Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz who was birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, chose her name after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father had a Jewish background. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. They didn't even have electricity. Television books was her only source of entertainment to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder started taking acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986, and Ryder who was just 15 years old, was offered an acting job as a lead actress. Ryder faced bullying during her time in high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress could make a difference. It didn't turn out. However, she continued to pursue her ambitions. Her biggest break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played successful roles for various films. In 1993, she was nominated twice to win Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
