Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than twenty years. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss comes born in California is a member of an very wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon before becoming the owner of Lakers, among other businesses. Their relationship ended in 1972 which made her feel emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old she inherited management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. Then she created the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. In the beginning, she was vice-president for the Lakers before taking on the role of President of the Great Western Forum. Her father died in 2013 and his controlling ownership of the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings via a trust for the family which gave each sibling the same vote. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based in Los Angeles.
